Anyone know what causes some runner bean pods to be seeded only at one end causing the pod to be misshapen and not ideal for slicing? Thought it might be a pollination problem? And does anyone know how to remedy it?
I would guess the same, although the hot weather can also cause this even at night it can interrupt the pod setting, lack of water at the root level are all possible things. the only thing I know is to hold off harvesting until September when its cooler but other than that I am not sure.
Hmm, good question, I’ve had this with various beans/peas over the years, I suspect you’re right about pollination, the only other thing I’ve thought is a lack of water at a particular point in their growth somehow affecting them.
