Bare patches in flower bed!

I’ve cut my hardy geranium back as it had finished flowering and now I’ve got a large area of bare earth in the flower bed. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I could plant, please? It’s quite cottagey with climbing roses & honeysuckle. Is it too late for seeds?

The geranium will probably pop back in next to no time to fill the gap itself. But for something new, you can sow biennial seeds now, such as foxgloves.

Otherwise something temporary to allow the geranium to fill the space next spring. Annuals such as cosmos or nicotiana.

They’ll be up and growing within a week!!!

Perfect. Thank you both. I’m too impatient! Had lots of foxgloves this year but they’re pretty well finished.

How about nasturtiums as the flowers are also edible

That’s a lovely idea, thank you.
