Asking for a friend

Hi,

A workmate asked me to identify a plant that appeared in her garden. I have tried to determine what it was but am at a loss. Can anyone help with this?

It’s the “stinking hellebore” Helleborus foetidus. I love this plant :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: And: it is not stinking at all

Thank you so much! I have never seen one of these before and it just popped up in my friends garden after 7 years

Cheers,

I think these are our kind of ‘Native’ hellebore, they self seed prolifically around our site. I do love them.

Amazing, I have never seen one before, although hellebore was the first thing that came to mind.

Unfortunately, this particular plant seeded itself in a small garden where dogs spend time (and are notorius plant chompers) so it had to go for their sake.

But I will look out for it in the future - good to learn something new!
